National Bank of Greece reportedly looking to exit Egypt

National Bank of Greece has reportedly contacted advisers to manage the potential sale of its 17 branches in Egypt. The bank plans to reduce its overseas presence as part of the bank’s restructuring plan mandated by the European Commission after Greece’s government debt crisis. The group’s public relations officer declined to comment on the news, adding that the bank would officially announce any significant change in its plans.
