Ministry of Labor Saudises several accommodation jobs
Minister of Labor and Social Development, Eng. Ahmed Al-Rajhi, has issued a decision to Saudise management, leading and specialist professions in the tourism hospitality sector. The decision will come into effect starting 28 Dec 2019 for operating and specialised jobs; 22 June 2020 for supervisors and assistant managers; and 16 Dec 2020 for managers. The nationalisation move covers three-star (and higher) hotels, resorts, hotel apartments, and hotel villas categorised as four-star accommodation and higher. As per the decision, jobs in booking, marketing and front offices will be 100% Saudised, with the exception of bell boys, valet, drivers and doormen. The decision has banned employers from recruiting expatriate workers, or transferring their services, assigning work to them, or using them in the jobs mentioned in the decision, whether directly or indirectly.
