Abu Dhabi accelerated its growth in hotel guest arrivals during October with 418,883 guests checking into the emirate’s 163 hotels and hotel apartments, a rise of 18% Y-o-Y. The cumulative number of guest arrivals for the first 10 months of 2017 increased to reach more than 3.9mn, up 8% Y-o-Y, according to latest figures released by the Department of Culture and Tourism in Abu Dhabi. The authority said the UAE capital remains on track to surpass last year’s record total of 4.4mn visitors. The number of guests from China rose 88% Y-o-Y to 32,000 in October, underpinned by the lifting of visa restrictions at the beginning of the year. The United States also posted significant double-digit growth of 80% Y-o-Y to reach 18,000 while the UK and India also rose by 26% Y-o-Y and 22% Y-o-Y respectively.
